The 2009 Dutch study: Over half a million planned home births with midwives. Concludes that planned home birth with a midwife is equally as safe as planned hospital birth with a midwife.

The 2009 Canadian study: 6,700 planned home births. Concludes that planned home birth wth a midwife is safer than planned hospital birth for low-risk women.

The 2000 North American study: Over 5,000 planned home births. Concludes that planned home birth with a certified professional midwife (CPM) is equally as safe as hospital birth for low-risk women. Women who planned home births also experienced lower rates of medical intervention.
